CCE 112 Base

Dear customer,

for the counterfeit detector CCE 112 Base, there will be no update for the new 100 Euro and 200 Euro banknotes, contrary to early assessments.

The reason for this decision, which we made together with the manufacturer, is that secure and reliable counterfeit detection can no longer be guaranteed. As far as sensor technology is concerned, the devices no longer comply with the current standard and can therefore no longer detect the counterfeits that are becoming better and better. They would therefore be given false security with the device, and would end up with counterfeit money in the register.

Also with the handling of the devices due to the limited memory of the devices compromises would have had to be made. Apart from the Euro, no other currency would be available, as the storage space would be exhausted by the new ES II series. In addition, there would have been restrictions in the input direction of the notes. A four-sided recognition of Euro banknotes would no longer be possible, so that the device might have rejected real Euro banknotes if they had been fed into the device in the wrong direction.
